As with the other tiers, advancement is driven largely by purchase volume and product commitment. A contractor typically reaches Craftsman Premier by purchasing 5,000 or more squares of IKO shingles per year, sourcing at least 70% of their residential roofing shingles from IKO, and completing the program's required educational courses. It therefore signals a high-volume, deeply committed IKO contractor rather than the product of a workmanship inspection.
On the warranty side, a Craftsman Premier contractor, like a Select contractor, can offer IKO's extended Iron Clad Protection limited warranty, with the longest available coverage terms generally tied to the top tier and the specific IKO products installed. As at the Select level, this extended coverage applies to materials only and does not cover the contractor's workmanship, and registration involves a per-application processing fee.
For a homeowner, Craftsman Premier is IKO's top contractor designation and indicates a contractor with a substantial, long-standing relationship with IKO and access to its strongest extended material warranties. The honest caveat is the same one that applies across the ROOFPRO program: because the tiers reflect purchasing volume and loyalty rather than a manufacturer assessment of installation quality, and because IKO explicitly does not guarantee the workmanship or quality of any ROOFPRO member, even this top tier is best presented as a strong purchasing affiliation with the best available warranty access, not as a certification of installation quality.
