GAF Master Elite is GAF's highest contractor designation, held by only about 2% of roofing contractors in the United States, and it is invitation-only, requiring a proven track record, financial stability, full insurance, a clean regulatory history, and ongoing training. A Master Elite contractor can register every GAF warranty, including the top-tier Golden Pledge Limited Warranty.
The Golden Pledge includes all the protection of the Silver Pledge, 50 years of non-prorated material defect coverage, tear-off, and disposal, but extends the workmanship coverage dramatically, from 10 years up to 20, 25, or 30 years depending on the shingle line installed, so installation errors are covered for most of the roof's usable life.
The warranty is transferable once to a new homeowner for the full remaining term if registered with GAF within 60 days of a sale, which adds resale value, and critically, if the contractor goes out of business during the coverage period, GAF itself honors the workmanship claims rather than leaving the homeowner stranded. It is the most comprehensive residential roofing warranty available in North America.
