A GAF Certified Plus contractor sits one rung above baseline Certified status and is authorized to register both the System Plus Limited Warranty and the stronger Silver Pledge Limited Warranty. The Silver Pledge includes everything the System Plus covers, namely 50 years of coverage on manufacturing defects plus tear-off, and adds two things the lower tier lacks: 10 years of workmanship coverage, meaning GAF will pay to correct installation errors such as improper nailing or flashing for a full decade, and coverage of disposal costs when a repair requires it.
The material coverage is non-prorated for the full 50-year term, so GAF covers 100% of a covered material defect rather than reducing its payout each year. This is the first tier at which a homeowner's installation, not just the product, is protected.
